The Florida Early Childhood Advocacy Fellowship (FECAF) program aims to overcome the challenges and barriers facing advocacy and engagement in the field. The FECAF helps a diverse cadre of early learning advocates learn how the system works and best ways to engage in the legislative process. Advocacy Fellows will be equipped and empowered to serve as change agents in local, state, and national conversations around issues of early childhood and the early learning workforce.
The Fellowship program consists of both in-person and virtual meetings focused on sharing relevant information and discussion between advocates and leaders in the early childhood and public policy fields. Participants will have the opportunity to join the Children’s Forum in Tallahassee and observe the legislative process while learning best practices for making change. Throughout the process, Fellows are also encouraged to build their networking skills and maintain relationships to expand their spheres of influence.
